It's about that time of year again to once again start preparing for the 2010 marching season. This season looks to be one of the best we've ever had at Chatfield. This year we have the highest number of returning veterans that we have ever had and the section is looking to be the biggest we have ever had. The marching staff is already hard at work forming a marching show for the fall and in addition there is whole new set of percussion exercises to sink your teeth into. This year auditions will be in an open format so all are welcome to come try out and experience the percussion section. Auditions will be held over 3 rehearsals, 4 weeks, and will include an individual audition as well as ensemble playing. The individual audition will be on the final of the three rehearsals. We will talk about the more at our first rehearsal/meeting. You will learn everything you need to know to be successful in your audition at the first two rehearsal and the rehearsals will be more like clinics than anything else. The purpose of these is to get everyone drumming together and having fun and along the way I'll check out how you are doing. You must be present at all three of the auditions, unless you have a school conflict. The auditions will be held in the band room at Chatfield Senior High School and in the first part of the first rehearsal there will be an informational meeting for parents and students. The auditions days are:
